We're Spicing It Up...

We have always had boring bedding, cream  colored sheets and a cream colored bedspread blanket.  That is the current situation.  I would love to have one of those lovely things from Potterybarn but our "bedspread" just gets used too much. Spit-up on by a baby, snot wiped on it by a two year old and so on.  So a "lovely thing" is just not in the cards right now-at least not until the kids get older.   I was inspired by someone in blogland, I think it was How Does She, I looked every where and couldn't find the post though. I was inspired because this person had a plain colored bedspread and had made pillowcases out of fun fabric.  I can do that I thought.  So I took myself to the fabric store and bought some wild fun fabric and conned my mother into helping me sew them.  We had fun.  So here they are:

I didn't know if I could step out on a limb that far with that red floral print but I'm glad I did.  When I grow up maybe I'll get some bedroom furniture. ;)

Well yesterday we visited the Dr for the well baby check and immunizations :( Joslyn is doing great.  She weighed 12 lbs and 15  oz 95% for weight 23 inches long 75% for height.
(2 months and 3 weeks old)
I don't remember Hudson's exact numbers because it is kind of a circus trying to get a two year old to cooperate at the Dr's office.  But he was in the 90% for weight and 75% for height.
They both got shots which I will never do again because which one do you comfort??? :( I was so sad for my babies.
I have been having some major pain in my wrist and down my thumb.  This has been going on for months (since about the last 3 months of my pregnancy) I finally decided to ask the Dr about it since it is now affecting my every day life (it hurts to write.) So he tucked my thumb and did this and that, and bent my wrist just so and I went through the roof.  He said, "yeah that's what I thought you'd do." So I have tendenitis and he gave me a shot of cortizone. :( It is starting to feel better already.  So thanks to my sweet hubby for taking care of dinner last night because my wrist hurt and all I wanted to do was hold my baby.

Here is Hudson with his CONSTANT companion: Lightning McQueen.
Don't think I am kidding when I say CONSTANT.

Hey I finally got with the program and updated my editor, WOW!!

Wacky Wednesday

Wacky because my two month old baby sleeps through the night, and the two YEAR old boy wakes up every night at 2:00. Like. Clockwork.

Disney On Ice

We started off spring break with a bang this year and took the kids to Disney on Ice. It. Was. Awesome!!! It was "Worlds Of Fantasy" so they had the cast of Cars, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Tinkerbell and the fairies. Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy hosted the show. Hudson LOVES Cars and Mickey Mouse he was just a bit awestruck for the first half of the show. I must admit I was a little star-struck myself. {{wink wink}} Brody is still young and innocent enough to really get into it, he loves Mickey Mouse too. Brody and Hudson watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse every morning. And when Braiden was Husdon's age he watched the Lion King every day so everyone really enjoyed it and we were disappointed when it was over. Can't wait to go again!!

I'm not sure which was the best moment of the show, when Lightning McQueen busted through the curtains or when Tinkerbell was flying through the air spreading pixie dust. So Cool!

After the show my dear sweet husband took me to Tai Pan- it was a great day people. Now this was a real treat because we NEVER get down to Utah, we go to Boise for everything. Just to prove just how sweet he was, the weather was horrible and we missed the exit so we had to turn around. But it was SO worth it in the end. I got some fun stuff (I'll spare you the pictures) and I found out that I have a SERIOUS case of Spring Fever. It's bad- I had to plant grass in flower pots, if my neighbors saw that they'd say, why don't you plant grass in your yard and not in flower pots on your kitchen table. :/ {eek}

Hudson is so funny these days he is starting to ask funny questions that his brothers always ask, like: "today-friday?" and "What's for dinner?" Also the terrible twos have kicked in- in FULL FORCE. UGH!

The Princess is constantly getting smothered in kisses from Brody and getting packed around by Braiden she dosen't seem to mind though. She has established a great night time routine by sleeping from 11-5 WOW!!! Some nights it's give or take an hour on either side but that's OK I'll take it!! She is a wonderful baby and getting chubbier by the day!!

Dressed up in her sunday pretties:

On Your Mark...

What a way to start off Cub Scouts, Braiden's first activity as a cub scout was the pinewood derby! Braiden and his dad worked feverishly to get that car lookin' good and speedy.

Watching nervously.

Hudson got a car out of a kids meal that day and the whole night he was begging, "daddy-race it" so cute.

Braiden's car was fast, he won the first round and came in a close second on the second round. By the time Hudson gets to cub scouts, we'll be unstoppable!! ;) Braiden's car won the award for "The Most Realistic"

Happy Birthday Braiden!!!

Tuesday was Braiden's birthday, but it was not just any birthday, Tuesday was his eighth birthday. Braiden is so excited to be 8, he gets to be baptized now, and go to cub scouts. Wow, my kids have not made me feel old...until now.

Braiden had a great day (for the most part) It was grandparent day at lunch (what a prefect day for that) so my mom along with me, Brody & Joslyn got to eat lunch with Braiden. After lunch we walked around the book fair and he got to pick out some new books. I think Brody was disappointed that he didn't get to play at recess with Braiden, but he got a new book out of the deal so... After the lunch recess, we had Braiden's party with his class, it was fun to be there. I think that Brody would have been content if I would have left him there the rest of the day.

After school Braiden got to play with a friend while I did this:

He wanted a Star Wars cake and Nate gave me the idea of making it like a light saber...do you see it?

Braiden is such an awesome kid, when we asked him what he wanted for dinner he said, "Chinese take out" Hey we can do that no problem. Just before the party was about to start Braiden got a funny look on his face and ran to the bathroom. When he came out he confessed, he had eaten a peanut butter cracker. So he spent the next hour puking his guts out all because of one, ONE teeny tiny Ritz Bitz peanut butter cracker.
WHY? why do we get so busy frosting a cake and ordering Chinese that we don't notice that box of crackers walking to the living room? WHY? Why did I buy that stupid box of crackers in the first place? Because they looked good to me...SELFISH!
WHY? Why didn't I warn him about that box...STUPID!!!
I can only be very GRATEFUL that throwing up was all that happened, because it could have been a lot worse. {{shutter}}
So he didn't get to enjoy the Chinese but after awhile he felt good enough to open presents:

I love this picture of Nate's cousin Colton showing Braiden how to do his scarf.

Looks like he's all ready to be a cub scout!! {{sigh}} so grown up!

Happy Birthday Braiden!!!

When we were getting ready for bed Braiden said to me, "hey mom, my birthday party made me happy!" -What a sweetheart.

Just an example of how sweet and thoughtful this boy is, this is a fill in the blank poem that he did in school.

Love Is...

Love is... "in my heart"
Love is... "my baby sis"
Love is... "helping"

Love is... "for joy"
Love is... "for my family"
Love is... "helping mom"

Love is so very simple,
It's not a mystery,
When you treat those around you
The very same way
You want them to treat you.

Love is.. "helping dad"
Love is... "helping my dog"
Love is... "me"
Love is... "dad"
Love is lending a helping hand
When someone needs you.

Love is... "doing everything"
L-O-V-E
Love is... "so good"
For you and me.
Oh! Love is the greatest thing in the world.

Not much else needs to be said, this kid is the best, and I'm so lucky to have him as my son!

I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to Jolisa, one of my very best friends on the face of this earth.

This wonderful woman shares a Birthday with my Braiden.

Joslyn's Big Day

Sunday was Joslyn's blessing day, she looked beautiful!

I had a "moment" when I was dressing her, it's difficult to describe, it was just special. So I can only imagine what I will be like 20 something years from now when I am helping her into her wedding gown, oh I want to cry thinking about it.

Sunday was also Valentines Day so why not celebrate this special day with everyone we love? After church we had a yummy dinner here at our house, it was so fun to have all of our family there.

10 years ago {{WOW}} on Valentines Day Nate proposed to me, so who would have known that 10 years later we would be blessing our baby girl on that same day.

I love my husband so much, he is my best friend, I am so grateful for all he does for our family. I am so blessed to have 4 beautiful, healthy children I love them with all my heart.

Oh, on another fun note, I woke up Sunday morning with my eye glued shut. The pink eye finally caught up to me, ugh! I was looking lovely let me tell ya.

Valentine Topiaries

Yesterday was a great day, and a first for Joslyn. She sat in the beauty chair...on my lap while I got my hair cut. I don't even remember the last time I got my hair cut, aaahhh! It feels good. After that I went and spent my b-day money at my favorite store, see that cute table runner? Then I came home and finished these cute topiaries. I found this fun idea on The Idea Room I couldn't believe how many felt circles it took to make these babies, WOW! I guess I should have believed them because I had to go back to the store for more felt and I still didn't have enough! So how do I have time to do all this with a new baby you ask? Well Braiden and Brody helped, they were actually very eager to help, it was a fun little project to do together. Braiden couldn't believe that even with the mountain of felt circles, we still had bare spots. (I decided that they were OK because they are on the bottom and gives them a flat place to sit on the candlesticks.) Love em!

Yup, That Pretty Much Sums It Up

This girl is getting some serious cheeks! They are so fun to kiss.

Check out her left hand...she's a natural. ;)

Aunt Karla threw us a baby shower a couple weekends ago, we had so much fun!! This is Joslyn all dressed up and ready to go to the party.

UGH! Mother are we done yet?

When she is in a certain mood she will give you a smile, yesterday morning at about 5:00 she was in that mood. :) Fun huh?!?!

We have been passing pink eye to and fro here at our house, luckily Joslyn & I have been missed...for now. :/

IT"S TRUE!!!

In case any of you ever wonder if your washing machine EATS socks.

It's TRUE

AAAHHH! I can't believe it, my washing machine must be really hungry because I found 16 socks here, that's 8 pairs of socks!!! All of those odd socks now have their mates. :)

I thought I got a glimpse of a sock so I pulled back the rubber gasket (which I have never done before...obviously) and that's what I found, I was dumbfounded.

It turns out that our washing machine prefers little tiny Hudson socks over big bulky daddy socks. What kind of socks does your washing machine prefer?
