I Can Move Mountains

Mountains of laundry that is. Yesterday I had a TON of laundry to do. Usually I try to spread it out, but it all needed to be washed in one day. Luckily my grandma was so kind and let me use her dryer to dry a couple of loads and that made things go a little faster. My washer and dryer was going ALL day.
Over the weekend we went to Boise so I could go to Twilight with my friend Jenn, it was awesome I loved it!! I thought the Cullens were prefect, they were just like I imagined them. OK, did anyone else see Stephenie Meyer in the Cafe scene or am I going crazy? Did you see the movie?? What did you think?? Nate and the boys went to Tyler and Jenn's to let the kids play. We stayed the night with them (Thanks so much you guys!!) On Saturday we went to the mall to tackle some Christmas shopping. Then a much needed trip to Costco. Nate wasn't going to miss the BYU game(I bet now he wished he had.) so we went to his brothers house for a football party. Then we headed home so we could go to church the next day. It was a fun weekend, now I can't wait to take Nate to Twilight. hehehe ;o)

I am thankful for:

Friday:

1. Safe travel.
2. Girls night out.
3. Good friends.

Saturday:

1. A decent mall, Yay! I got a little bit of Christmas shopping done.
2. A football party with Cob and Natalie, the kids had a blast!
3. Kids who slept in the car on the way home.

Sunday:

1. A Crockpot, dinner is done when you arrive home from church, starving.
2. My mom who made me this awesome purse. SO CUTE!!
3. Pudding Brownie at mom's YUMMY!

Monday:

1. A washer and dryer in my house. I remember the day, about the first 3 years of our married life when we had to use the apartment complex laundry facility. I would save up the laundry then stack basket upon basket in the stroller and try to carefully push it down the sidewalk without tipping it over, all while carrying Braiden on one hip.
2. My Grandma who treated me to lunch (in between loads of laundry) and for helping me dry my clothes.
3. The school bus, makes my life a lot easier.

Tuesday:

1. That Braiden brought home a nearly perfect report card.
2. That we finally got the exterior colors of our house picked out. WOW that was a tricky one! I am so nervous, hope we like it.
3. Paul and Karla who offered their expert opinion with the color picking. And for letting us hang out with you all the time. We love you guys!

I want you all to know that because I told you about our Boise trip I am going to get raked over the coals by my brother, who we failed to visit while we were there. Sorry Casey, love ya, you too Kristy.

Catching Up

I am getting burnt out from all this posting, I'm sure you are too. Yesterday was one of those days with kids. Just FYI stubborn mom + stubborn child don't mix. There were a couple of times that I just had to put a fake smile on and say "I love you Brody" Dinner could not cook fast enough for my starving 1st grader "you are such a mean mom" tears and all. All because I was cooking potatoes and not rice. After they had a little something they were good as new. Why do kids do this I ask??? They were perfectly normal, then the visiting teachers come and they start bouncing off the walls and wrestling and playing soccer right in the middle of it all!!! Then the second they leave, calm once again. hmmmm. WHY??

Well now I get to catch up on my list.

I am thankful for:

1. Preschool- because Brody loves it. He has so much fun.
2. Mousse and hairspray- My hair would be pretty scary without it.
3. Braiden- who helps me fold clothes and put them away.
4. My piano- it helps me unwind, also "Love One Another" provides excellent background music to wrestling.
5. Visiting teachers who bring an uplifting message, though shouted over noisy children, it was still uplifting.
6. Bed time- need I say more.

Adventures With Atticus

I am posting this mostly for my awesome, cool, favorite (any of those will do) brother to see. Atticus was Casey's dog who was then "adopted", if you will, by my mom and dad. Atticus was living in the city but we found that he had a lot more fun when he visited the country. There is just more room to roam, and that's what he needed. But I guess being in the country has it's consequences too...

It is still a mystery as to how this happened. He was fine when dad left to go out to the field, he was fine when mom went outside, then Scott (my other awesome brother) went out, he noticed that Atticus was bleeding. Luckily there were no broken bones, just 26 stitches. So after an overnight stay at the vet he seems to be good as new. The vet thought he might have gotten hit?? We don't know.

I wanted to post a picture of Braiden's toothlessness, and I finally got him to sit still long enough to get a picture. You can really see his bottom permanent tooth coming in.

Today I am thankful
1. That they were actually having something for school lunch that Braiden could eat so I didn't have to make a cold lunch.

2. That my sweet sister-in-law Tiffany cut Nate's hair, so I didn't have to.

geez! You'd think I was on vacation or something.

3. That I have a clean house, ahhh it feels so good!

Monday

Today I am thankful
1. That there was no school. Didn't get to sleep in (because our kids don't know how to sleep in) but I got to stay in bed just a little bit longer.

2. For my mom, who unselfishly helps me with all of my little projects.

3. Mops because, I knocked the bowl of pancake batter onto the floor and it splattered all over, and later on Braiden spilled his noodles. Good thing for mops.

Thankful

Today I am thankful
1. For my calling, it makes me practice. I dreaded this calling, you know the parable of the talents, yeah I was the one hiding mine. (oops!) But the good thing I guess is that now I am sharing them and I can tell I have gotten better since I started. And I'll admit that I enjoy it too.

2. For graham crackers and cheerios to keep Hudson somewhat quiet during church.

3. For the Twin Falls temple, It is a blessing to have one so close.

Thankful

Today I am thankful...
1. For my Bosch, I think I used it three different times today.
2. That I finally get my Friday nights back. Minico lost last night they took 3rd in state, I really do feel bad that they lost, I'm just happy to have my Friday nights back!! No more football (high school that is.)
3. That my mom let the kids spend the night at her house last night with the other cousins. They had soooo much fun, they were totally wiped out when she returned them to me. I got some good quiet time, all day, just me and Huddy.
I am going to cheat and do more:
4. For my hard working hubby. he worked on the house all day today, stubbing out the sewer and making the arches for the entry and kitchen.
5. For the ward harvest dinner, I didn't have to cook tonight.

New Tricks

Last night I was in the kitchen and I could hear, tink, tink, tink on the piano. I looked around to see who was doing it, it wasn't Braiden, he was in the kitchen with me. It wasn't Brody he was also in the kitchen with me, I peek around the corner, it was Hudson!!

He also learned how to blow bubbles in the bathtub, he thinks that is pretty funny.

3 things that I am thankful for today:

1. Enrichment- because that's as close as I come to "girls night out"
2. Blanket sleepers- aka "ghetto jammies" they are so easy, Zip. Done. Warm and comfy too.
3. The bathtub- my two oldest INSIST on a bath or a shower every day. And when the baby is in the bathtub he couldn't be happier.

Thankful

Today I am thankful for:

1. Dishwashers- I did dishes by hand for WAY too long in my married life.
2. Tom and Jerry- to help keep my munchkins occupied when I can't.
3. A baby's laugh.

Silly Tooth Fairy!!

Sometimes I feel like the blog is a good place to brag, or to paint a perfect little picture of our lives. Well there is no bragging and no perfect pictures, not today. I screwed up and I feel HORRIBLE! Braiden went to the dentist yesterday and got 2 teeth pulled (I'll talk about that a little bit later) So if you are a kid and you have to go through that what is the one thing that you would look forward to about loosing teeth? Yes, it's a visit from the tooth fairy. I bet you can see where this is going, yes the tooth fairy FORGOT to come!!! He put his teeth in the little box and carefully placed them on his bed post, morning came and he sat right up in bed and looked on the bed post to find, nothing... he said, "Maybe she couldn't get the lid open" ahhhh {{tear, tear}} I've never actually cried while writing a post before. I am a horrible mother. I guess the tooth fairy will dish out double tonight. He is such a sweet boy, so innocent, I hate to see him growing up.

Now that you know how imperfect I am and that I screw up (on a daily basis) I want to tell you about the teeth pulling. I want you all to know that we aren't teeth pulling happy and that we don't do this for fun. We actually got a consult from the orthodontist who told us to get those teeth out of there, so his permanent teeth will come in more straight and there will be less ortho work to do later on. He was very brave and tough through the whole thing, I was proud of him. I will have to take a picture of his toothlessness and post later.

We have family pictures later on tonight, wish us luck!!

On another note, my friend Niki is doing this on her blog and I thought it was a great idea. List 3 things everyday that you are thankful for until Thanksgiving. So here it goes.

1. Lidocaine, so Braiden didn't have to feel his teeth coming out.
2. Lessons learned, I will never forget to be the tooth fairy AGAIN. (I hope)
3. A sweet, innocent, forgiving child.
