I'm Back!!!

Well I'm back and I have alot of catching up to do!! Where shall I begin? Sorry I have been gone so long but with a move half way accross the country, finding a place to live, and getting settled, and then finally getting the Internet, things take awhile. On May 9th was the Awards Ceremony and the Hooding Ceremony Nate received the Brassler USA Excellence in Endodontics Award along with a $500 gift certificate for Brassler products. (Brassler is a dental supply company) we were pleasantly surprised and proud of Nate for receiving this award. The instructors at the school want to turn Nate into an Endodontist, however, I think he is happy just being really good at doing root canals.

I realized a little bit to late that maybe that I should have invested in a new camera for these special events because the pictures I got were crap. Hooding Ceremony was amazing I have never been so proud of someone in my whole life. (I'm a horrible person, and I'll be the first to admit it.) I was a really good day. After hooding there was a reception at the dental school, it was nice, and we got to say our final good buys to the dental clinic. We celebrated the evening by going out to eat at Kobe Steakhouse (a Japanese tepanyaki grill) I think we went there for every special occasion while we were in Omaha. It is SO yummy and very fun! The next day commencement was held at the Qwest Center. When it was all said and done, the school of dentistry went a little crazy with the silly string. Everyone in their class had two cans of it, and it was like a cloud over their heads. They were going crazy, while all of the other health professions were sitting there all prim and proper. Some people will never grow up, but that's OK, it keeps life interesting.

The next day was Mothers Day and it wasn't such a happy one. Brody had the stomach flu and I felt a little under the weather myself. Little did we know that we would all catch it before it was all said and done (Grandma, Grandpa, and Cara included!) Monday the 12th was moving day, we got the moving truck and loaded up our stuff. I kept walking around our empty house, Nate finally had to shoo me out, I guess I just didn't want to leave. When we finally headed out I bawled, but only for a short time, because I had to drive the car! We spent the rest of that day driving and the next day. When we got home Nate went and found us a place to live temporarily and we moved our stuff in on the 15th. We are renting a duplex in Burley I am finding that it is not fun going from a homeowner back to a renter. Although there is plenty of space inside and LOTS of grass to play on outside. The new ward is really different from our old ward, it will take alot of getting used to (we miss the Elkhorn Ward desperately) It didn't take them long to ask us to speak in church our first Sunday there was the 18th and they came by on the 19th and asked us to speak! Well I guess you know it's coming, so you might as well get it over with right?

Nate has been busy over at the dental office giving it a bit of a face lift, he will be getting all new equipment in a couple weeks, so until then we are working on the cosmetic details. We will have to post pictures later.

Hudson learned to roll over on the 17th we were busy bringing boxes in the house and we found him on his tummy. Now he does it all the time. I guess if that's all you knew how to do you would do it all the time too!! The only problem is that he doesn't know how to roll back over and so he gets mad after about 1 minute, so I roll him onto his back and he immediately rolls onto his tummy again, silly boy!!

Braiden and Brody are adjusting well (I guess) Braiden is happy to be by the Grandmas and Grandpas, and Brody keeps wanting to go back to "our other house." We live a couple houses down from my grandma so the boys like to go over and visit her, and she really enjoys that!

I am totally homesick for Omaha and all of our friends, we miss you!! Well I will put you out of your misery and quit now, I am glad to be back to blogging I have missed it.

CoCo Key with the Shaws!!

On Thursday we went to CoCo Key with the Shaws; Tyler, Jen, Landon and Conner we love this place it is a very fun environment for the kids. They absolutely love the water, Brody and Landon went up and down the kiddie slide 95% of the day. Braiden had to do the bigger tube slides because he is a big boy :) He did the kiddie slides alot too :) I finally convinced Jen to go on Barracuda Blast with me (the really fast, pitch black slide) It was a scream!! Conner and Hudson (our water babies) loved splashing in the water! Nate and Tyler just kicked back on the lawn chairs (some of the time) and enjoyed being out of school.

Senior Banquet

This is Nate and I at Senior Banquet. This year the banquet was held at the downtown Hilton. It was a very beautiful setting, yummy food, and good company. It was so much fun, we spent all day (saturday) getting ready for it. I don't think I have gotten this dressed up since my wedding and it felt really good. Nate kept saying all night long "I can't believe this is for us" "I can't believe we finally made it to this point." It is a VERY strange feeling to finally be done with school! A HUGE thank you go out to Jeff and Heidi who watched our kids for us when our babysitter fell through at the last minute. Hudson even stayed with them, I was SHOCKED when he took a bottle and didn't even bat an eyelash! Nate is so excited to be able to feed him he can't see straight. He thinks I'm selfish, having all the feedings to myself. And I think I agree with him. I just love it.

BBQ n' Fools

During the summer months we are constantly getting together with our friends to BBQ and usually we have the "Ghetto Slide" out (2 huge paint tarps spread across two yards)but it wasn't quite warm enough for that today. Today was the farewell BBQ because we are all going our seperate ways. I suppose we will have to get together once in a while to BBQ and Ghetto Slide just for old times sake. We will miss you!!

Tooth Tooth Who Lost a Tooth?

Braiden!!!
Wednesday night Braiden lost his first tooth, He was playing basketball with the neighbor and the ball hit him in the mouth and knocked his tooth loose (it was already a little bit loose anyway.) So we ran in the house and dad wiggled it the rest of the way out!! It was quite tramatic for the little guy. The rest of the evening he whistled through his teeth just to make us laugh (even Hudson got a kick out of it!!) He was so excited about the Tooth Fairy coming that he fell asleep right away, and when he woke up the next morning and saw money in place of his tooth he proclaimed, "The Tooth Fairy IS real!!!"

Tuesday was quite the day I went Visiting Teaching and Hudson was very very fussy the whole time. I kept saying "He is not usually like this, he must be tired or something." I quickly abandoned visiting teaching and went home but he wouldn't go to sleep he just cried and cried. There was no consoling him now this is very uncharacteristict of Hudson so I decided to call the Dr and I got into the last open slot of the day. Come to find out that my sweet baby has an ear infection, but the Dr wasn't convinced so she did some blood work, only to find out that his white blood cell count was extremely high. So she sent us over to the Children's Hospital for further testing. We did a chest x-ray and some other lab work and got 2 antibiotic injections and then we were finally able to go home. So far we know that he has a virus as well as an ear infection and we haven't heard about anything else. But as soon as he got the antibiotic he started acting more like himself. Today I think he is feeling much much better and I am seeing my happy little Hudson return, Hurray!!

I think I'm finally getting the hang of this!!

With alot of help from family (thanks Kristy) and friends (thanks Jenn) I am finally starting to figure this thing out. I know there is alot more to learn but it will come. Oh I want you to know that I did this WITHOUT Nate's help (he would have gladly helped if needed though.)

We are nearing the end of our 3 year stay in Omaha. It is a little bittersweet with:
The house: SOLD
Boards: TAKEN
Last test: TAKEN
Clinic Requirements: 98% complete

It will be nice to move on to life outside of school but we have grown to love Omaha, we have made so many wonderful friends here who will be dearly missed, and I have to say that I will miss the shopping too. But we (really just Nate) have been in school our entire married life (almost 8 years)so we are ready to be done.

In January we had our third boy!! Hudson is such a sweet and good little baby, the big brothers adore him.

February- who knows what happened it was a whirlwind

March-We went to Idaho and Blessed Hudson and celebrated Braiden's 6th Birthday. When we got home we put our house on the market which is crazy and stressful and NOT fun!

And here we are in April with half the month gone already! I feel like all I've done is laundry and clean the house for showings. Nate took the clinic portion of the boards on the 10th-13th and he is glad to have that over with! Now it is smooth sailing from here on out.

Mickelsen Clan

Here is the Mickelsen Clan at the Blessing dinner/Birthday Party. We didn't get a chance to get a picture of all of the Catmulls, we love our family!!
