Soaking Up The Sun

3 days old

There has been a lot of this going on at our house these days. Finally after about a week the doctor finally decided that she was out of the "danger zone" and quit poking her little heel. Hurray for that! I think it is harder on mom than baby to go through that.

4 days old

Other than that I have been busy snuggling this sweet little one, there is absolutely nothing better in the whole wide world!

6 days old

I have been able to do all of this snuggling thanks to my mom who has totally pampered me, and to friends and neighbors who have stepped in and brought meals to our family so, THANK YOU!!

1 week old

And I cannot forget my awesome husband who has stepped in and taken over my duties while I am on the couch feeding the baby, or if I just want/need to sleep for 30 more min. ;) Thank you, thank you!

2 weeks old (yesterday)

The boys love their little sis, even Hudson is OK with her. He has even started to call her by name, it is pretty cute. Occasionally he says, "baby, sit!" and points to the couch, this is usually when he needs me to get something for him. But just as often he says, "hold you, baby" so he can give her loves. I was so worried about how he would handle having a baby around, but so far, so good!

I just want to tell a little story, if nothing else-to prove that I am an absolute BASKET CASE after having a baby, but it was a very sweet moment for me. They had taken the baby out of the room to wash her up and when they brought her back in and I saw her with a little pink bow in her hair I cried (OK I sobbed) "OOOOH she has a bow in her hair!" It still brings tears to my eyes!

WOW- they change a lot in 2 weeks!

She's Here!!!

Meet our sweet little Joslyn Alea:

Born on Monday January 4 at 3:09 p.m.

Weighing 7 lbs 7 oz
20 inches long

I went to my Dr appointment and the Dr asked me what I was doing that day. I told him that I would like to go to the hospital and have this baby. He said let me make a phone call. He came back and said head on over! So I called Nate and he had his patients rescheduled.

They started the pitocin at 11:45 and told me that the anesthesiologist would be there by 12:30 to give the epidural Dr came in at 12:15 and broke my water. 12:30 came and went...no epidural. To make a long story short, the anestheiologist was stuck in a surgery and I think I finally got the epidural at 2:00. I say "I think" because I got a shot of pain meds through the IV and it made me a little loopy. Once I finally got the epidural things went great. Just before 3 the nurse called the Dr and he came a runnin. Pushed through 2 contractions and she was here! She is my smallest baby so recovery has been great! Here are a few fun pics of her:

He's Two

Look Who's Two...

Sweet baby!

Sweet Boy!

Birthday Cake!

Who needs birthday cake when you have a Mickey Mouse juice box?

Bowling

I don't know who was more excited about this toy, him or his brothers. Now they won't have to use rolls of paper towels as bowling pins. ;)

Happy Birthday Hudson!!!

Christmas 2009

We went out to Grandma and Grandpa M's for a little bit on Christmas Eve. We played some games and had yummy food.

Here are the boys opening their Christmas jammies.

Back at home we baked some cookies for santa and layed out the stockings. Have they been good enough???

They must have been.

Santa and Mrs Clause pulled a LATE night at the Catmull house.

Luckily our kids are still young enough that they still sleep in on Christmas morning.

Let's Rewind a Little

Here are some fun pictures of a few of our December activities. In keeping with tradition we went to the mountains to cut down a Christmas tree. This is what we did while dad and grandpa went trudging through the wilderness to find the perfect trees.

We let them have some fun too.

Santa visited the Catmull Christmas party:

Hudson was a little leery of the Jolly Old Elf.

Braiden says, just bring me whatever you want. Don't let him fool you though, he has a list a mile long at home. ;)

Brody knows exactly what he wants.

We're Here...The Baby is NOT :(

We are ready to meet our baby girl, maybe she is not ready to meet us!?!?

Doesn't she want to be wrapped up in this gorgeous quilt from grandma?

Or spit up on these cute burp rags?

I would if I were her {wink wink}

We shall see what tomorrow brings.

Look Who's 5!!

Sweet baby!

Sweet Boy!

Brody turned 5 on Monday, what a big boy!! Brody got to do all his favorite things on his special day. Waffles for breakfast, preschool, taking treats to preschool, and a pizza party later in the day with all of his favorite people, opening presents, eating a football cake and staying up past bed time!

Look at the excitement in his face! I love it.

Time for presents!

He had so much fun at his birthday party playing with all of his new toys, it was fun to watch.

The fun spilled over into the next day (as it should) when he got to try out his new tee, and his new clothes.

I wasn't going to get another plastic tee (those don't last long around here)so this is the real deal, so far, so good.

He had fun playing with the play dough set too. I only cleaned up play dough 7,592 times yesterday. Uh well it keeps them very occupied.

He keeps asking me, "now that I'm 5 can I go to Braiden's school?"
Well yes but you'll have to wait a few more months. ;) You have to finish preschool first.

They grow up too fast.

We love you Brody!!

This is Hudson enjoying some birthday cake:

I walked into the kitchen..
Oh Hudson, did you make a mess?
H: uh-huh
Me: Why?
H: cause
This kid cracks me up, it makes the mess less of a deal if you are laughing about it.

On Being a Mom

So I'm to the point now when I am starting to grow out of my maternity clothes, so that makes people ask, "Whoa, when are you due?" Always fun. Last night we had a Christmas party to go to and I was struggling to find something to wear that wouldn't look like I was going to bust out of the seams. I finally settled on the white shirt and same ole' pants. I finished getting ready and rushed into the kitchen where Hudson was yelling from his highchair "DONE...DONE...DONE" So I scoop him out of the chair only to get his dinner "mess" on the front of the white, only decent thing that fits shirt. UH, I give up.

Friday night we took the kids to A Christmas Carol. I thought it was a little too scary for little kids. Brody kept asking if we could go home and was plugging his ears and closing his eyes half the time. Even Hudson had his face buried in Nate shoulder and was whimpering. And believe it or not, my kids are not ones to get scared in movies. I told Nate that I liked the Mickey Mouse version better. ;)

Nate and I went to Boise this past weekend and left the kids with Kurt and Terril. We had to get Christmas and Birthday shopping done. We made a huge dent in the list (only a few little things left) and we got some great deals. Gymboree was having 25% off the entire store and I had a coupon for 15% off my entire purchase...Needless to say I went hog wild for the baby, Nate just stood there and rolled his eyes. After a huge day of shopping I was exhausted so we went to dinner and Nate took me to New Moon (what a guy!!) It was so fun to get away without the kids, love em', but it's nice to have time together too.
