My New Toy!!!

I am so excited about this. My Grandma promised me her piano a few years ago, and she said that I could take it any time I wanted. Well we finally moved close enough so I decided to move it over to my house. It is a good thing too because they have been asking me lately to sub in as the primary pianist, and I have a strange feeling that they want to make it permanent here before too long. So I have been practicing every spare moment I get, I haven't had a piano to practice on for 9 years so needless to say, I am a little rusty! I love my Grandma so much and I don't think that I could ever thank her enough for this incredible gift!!!

Here is a picture of the boys, they got to ride horses on Saturday they thought that was pretty fun.

Brody thinks he needs to pull a face in every picture so it seems like I can't ever get a decent picture of the kid. grrr!

Oh and just an update on "Our Little Visitor" After staying in our courtyard for about 2 weeks ducky finally left and went back down to the river (unless he is in someone else's courtyard :) ) We tried to take him down to the river after about five days only to have him return the next morning. So we just let him be, the last few days I noticed him venturing out more and more and then he was gone. Brody would chase it around trying to "pet" him and we would say "no, he has germs" so Brody would say "but I won't touch his mouth" I'm glad he is gone, He was quite an attraction though.

Well we are off to Red Fish Lake next week I'm sure we will have lots of pictures and stories to tell.

We Have a Visitor

This little duck has been hanging out in our courtyard for the past 3 days. He looks like he has a hurt beak so I feel bad for him. He dosen't seem to mind us, even when Braiden gives him a shower with the hose. We filled up a five gallon bucket with water and he gets drinks from it and occasionally he will hop in and take a swim. I have given him plenty of time to leave, so tonight we are going to try and catch him and take him back down to the river. I'm sure he will be grateful in the end.

We had a fun fourth, Nate walked in the parade and passed out frisbees with his name on them, it is a good form of advertisement! After the parade we went to Grandma Douglass' for a yummy picnic, then we went boating. I tried to wake board but I could never get up, a girl can only handle so many face plants. Nate says that he is not going to let me give up so we'll see if I can ever do this. Later that night we went up to Albion for thier fireworks show which is fairly decent concidering the fact that the population of Albion is about 300. Thier fireworks were nicely coreographed to the smell of skunk and the bite of mosquito :) I was glad Hudson was asleep in the car the whole time.

Braiden has been doing swimming lessons and he passed level 3 so he will start level 4 on Monday. Brody is finally tall enough to start level 1 and boy is he excited, we are counting down the days. He has been so nice and patient waiting 45 min every day for Braiden. I'm glad he finally gets to do something, he deserves it!!

I've been lost in a book!

I just finished reading New Moon it is the second book in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Series. These books are so good I have hardly been able to put them down. They have the perfect mix of action and romance, I find myself looking over my shoulder when I go get Hudson in the middle of the night! (I freak myself out sometimes :) ) I don't have book 3 yet so I thought I would take some time and catch up on my blog!

On Friday I went to a card workshop put on by my cousin, it was really fun! I haven't done anything crafty in a LONG time and it felt good! It was fun to get together with my mom, my aunts, and my cousin and have a girly day with no kids(except Hudson)

Later that day we went boating, Nate loves to wake board. This is one of the main reasons that we moved to Rupert so that we would have easy access to the river!

Braiden and Brody even rode on the tube they loved it!

Saturday we took Huddy Buddy to the Dr because we thought that he might have an ear infection, and we were right (but not happy to be.) Poor little guy this is the 2nd ear infection and 3rd round of antibiotics and he is not quite 6 months old yet! He is such a good baby despite it all.

The weather has been very nice, we have been swimming and playing at the park the kids love it. They still love to run down to "Grandma Nae's" and she loves their little visits, every time they come back they have a little baggie of candy...hmmm :)

Hudson is 5 months old!!

Hudson had his first taste of rice cereal on Sunday, he seemed to like it ok. It will take some getting used to (eating from a spoon is an art you know!)

Hudson is always on his belly these days, we call it "belly surfin'" because he puts his hands to his side and kicks his legs. He is doing so much, it is amazing how fast they grow and change!

I'm Back!!!

Well I'm back and I have alot of catching up to do!! Where shall I begin? Sorry I have been gone so long but with a move half way accross the country, finding a place to live, and getting settled, and then finally getting the Internet, things take awhile. On May 9th was the Awards Ceremony and the Hooding Ceremony Nate received the Brassler USA Excellence in Endodontics Award along with a $500 gift certificate for Brassler products. (Brassler is a dental supply company) we were pleasantly surprised and proud of Nate for receiving this award. The instructors at the school want to turn Nate into an Endodontist, however, I think he is happy just being really good at doing root canals.

I realized a little bit to late that maybe that I should have invested in a new camera for these special events because the pictures I got were crap. Hooding Ceremony was amazing I have never been so proud of someone in my whole life. (I'm a horrible person, and I'll be the first to admit it.) I was a really good day. After hooding there was a reception at the dental school, it was nice, and we got to say our final good buys to the dental clinic. We celebrated the evening by going out to eat at Kobe Steakhouse (a Japanese tepanyaki grill) I think we went there for every special occasion while we were in Omaha. It is SO yummy and very fun! The next day commencement was held at the Qwest Center. When it was all said and done, the school of dentistry went a little crazy with the silly string. Everyone in their class had two cans of it, and it was like a cloud over their heads. They were going crazy, while all of the other health professions were sitting there all prim and proper. Some people will never grow up, but that's OK, it keeps life interesting.

The next day was Mothers Day and it wasn't such a happy one. Brody had the stomach flu and I felt a little under the weather myself. Little did we know that we would all catch it before it was all said and done (Grandma, Grandpa, and Cara included!) Monday the 12th was moving day, we got the moving truck and loaded up our stuff. I kept walking around our empty house, Nate finally had to shoo me out, I guess I just didn't want to leave. When we finally headed out I bawled, but only for a short time, because I had to drive the car! We spent the rest of that day driving and the next day. When we got home Nate went and found us a place to live temporarily and we moved our stuff in on the 15th. We are renting a duplex in Burley I am finding that it is not fun going from a homeowner back to a renter. Although there is plenty of space inside and LOTS of grass to play on outside. The new ward is really different from our old ward, it will take alot of getting used to (we miss the Elkhorn Ward desperately) It didn't take them long to ask us to speak in church our first Sunday there was the 18th and they came by on the 19th and asked us to speak! Well I guess you know it's coming, so you might as well get it over with right?

Nate has been busy over at the dental office giving it a bit of a face lift, he will be getting all new equipment in a couple weeks, so until then we are working on the cosmetic details. We will have to post pictures later.

Hudson learned to roll over on the 17th we were busy bringing boxes in the house and we found him on his tummy. Now he does it all the time. I guess if that's all you knew how to do you would do it all the time too!! The only problem is that he doesn't know how to roll back over and so he gets mad after about 1 minute, so I roll him onto his back and he immediately rolls onto his tummy again, silly boy!!

Braiden and Brody are adjusting well (I guess) Braiden is happy to be by the Grandmas and Grandpas, and Brody keeps wanting to go back to "our other house." We live a couple houses down from my grandma so the boys like to go over and visit her, and she really enjoys that!

I am totally homesick for Omaha and all of our friends, we miss you!! Well I will put you out of your misery and quit now, I am glad to be back to blogging I have missed it.

CoCo Key with the Shaws!!

On Thursday we went to CoCo Key with the Shaws; Tyler, Jen, Landon and Conner we love this place it is a very fun environment for the kids. They absolutely love the water, Brody and Landon went up and down the kiddie slide 95% of the day. Braiden had to do the bigger tube slides because he is a big boy :) He did the kiddie slides alot too :) I finally convinced Jen to go on Barracuda Blast with me (the really fast, pitch black slide) It was a scream!! Conner and Hudson (our water babies) loved splashing in the water! Nate and Tyler just kicked back on the lawn chairs (some of the time) and enjoyed being out of school.

Senior Banquet

This is Nate and I at Senior Banquet. This year the banquet was held at the downtown Hilton. It was a very beautiful setting, yummy food, and good company. It was so much fun, we spent all day (saturday) getting ready for it. I don't think I have gotten this dressed up since my wedding and it felt really good. Nate kept saying all night long "I can't believe this is for us" "I can't believe we finally made it to this point." It is a VERY strange feeling to finally be done with school! A HUGE thank you go out to Jeff and Heidi who watched our kids for us when our babysitter fell through at the last minute. Hudson even stayed with them, I was SHOCKED when he took a bottle and didn't even bat an eyelash! Nate is so excited to be able to feed him he can't see straight. He thinks I'm selfish, having all the feedings to myself. And I think I agree with him. I just love it.

BBQ n' Fools

During the summer months we are constantly getting together with our friends to BBQ and usually we have the "Ghetto Slide" out (2 huge paint tarps spread across two yards)but it wasn't quite warm enough for that today. Today was the farewell BBQ because we are all going our seperate ways. I suppose we will have to get together once in a while to BBQ and Ghetto Slide just for old times sake. We will miss you!!
